Wind Burst

Treasure

Creates a burst of wind on successful mace smash attack, launching the player back into the air.

Overview

Wind Burst is a very rare special enchantment in Minecraft 1.21. Wind Burst launches you upward whenever you land a mace smash, bouncing you back into the air so you can immediately set up another falling attack.

Its opening level already delivers a noticeable boost — Small upward wind burst after smash attack — and it climbs from there to a maximum of level 3 (III) on your mace.

Max Level & Effect Scaling

Wind Burst tops out at level 3, shown as III on the mace, and the gap between the levels is where the enchantment's character really lives.

Its three levels each produce a stronger upward burst after a successful smash. The higher the launch, the greater the fall distance you can build for your next strike, which is what lets it chain into devastating combos.

Compatible Items

Compatibility & Conflicts

Wind Burst fits exactly one item — the mace — and nothing else will accept it, so it is a dedicated mace enchantment through and through.

Wind Burst has no exclusivity conflicts at all, so you can layer it onto a mace alongside every other enchantment that mace accepts without having to give anything up.

How to Get It

Wind Burst is a treasure enchantment, which means an enchanting table will never produce it. Your only routes are ominous vault and trial chamber loot, after which you combine the book onto your mace with an anvil.

Tips & Best Combinations

A treasure enchantment found only in trial chambers' ominous vaults, never at a table, and the perfect partner for Density. Together they let you smash, bounce, and smash again for escalating fall damage, producing some of the highest burst damage in the game — at the cost of needing the rare drop to obtain it.

For the strongest setup, pair Wind Burst with Density, Unbreaking and Mending — the durability enchantments in particular keep the item alive long enough to make the investment worthwhile.

Worth remembering: treasure enchantment exclusive to the mace. Can only be found in ominous vaults and trial chambers. Launches the player upward after a smash, allowing chain smash attacks with Density for massive damage.

Wind Burst FAQ

What is the maximum level of Wind Burst in Minecraft?
Wind Burst reaches a maximum of level 3 (III) on a mace, which is the highest you can get legitimately in 1.21 without commands or external tools.
How do you get Wind Burst in survival?
Wind Burst is treasure-only, so no enchanting table will ever roll it; you have to obtain it as ominous vault and trial chamber loot and then attach the book to your mace on an anvil.
Which items can Wind Burst go on?
Just the mace — Wind Burst is exclusive to it in vanilla 1.21, and you will not be able to apply the enchantment to anything else.
How do I get Wind Burst?
Only from the loot of ominous vaults in trial chambers — the vaults you open with an ominous trial key. It cannot be rolled at an enchanting table, so finding the book is the main barrier to using it.
Why pair Wind Burst with Density?
Wind Burst flings you upward after each smash, and Density rewards fall distance with bonus damage. Chaining the two means every bounce sets up a higher, harder-hitting smash, producing escalating combo damage no other weapon can match.
